Golf Hatchback Seventh generation was launched in August 2012 based on Volkswagen Modularer Querbaukasten (MQB) with internal naming Type 5G1, Type BE1. Golf Hatchback Seventh generation was available in China, Europe, and USA. On 9 October 2016 Volkswagen discontinued Golf Hatchback Seventh generation.
