Spicer 5831G (auxiliary)
5831G (auxiliary) is a 3-speed manual transmission created by Spicer and used in Chevrolet and GMC cars.
Spicer 3-speed auxiliary transmission 5831G is the constant-mesh type. Engagement of the gears is effected by sliding hubs splined to the mainshaft. All running gears are of helical design.
Two power take-off SAE standard 6-strud locations on both sides of the transmission facilitate easy accessory power hookups.
Usually this transmission requires 4 pints of lubricant.
