Chevrolet 3-Speed Synchomesh (low reverse)
3-Speed Synchomesh (low reverse) is a 3-speed manual transmission created by Chevrolet and used in Chevrolet and GMC cars.
Produced by Chevrolet. Wide-faced helical gears are carburized and shot-peened for long service life. Rounded gear teeth resist chipping. Anti-friction bearings on the clutch shaft, mainshaft and countershaft assure alignment and proper gear meshing. Gearshift lever is conveniently located on the steering column. Transmission can handle up to 275 ft.lb. input torque. Usually this transmission requires 2 pints of lubricant.
